Peshawar Zalmi lost to Multan Sultans in the 16th match of the seventh edition of Pakistan Super League.
The in-from Sultans were invited to bat first by Zalmi skipper Wahab Riaz and they handed a 183-run target.
In the first five overs, both Kamran Akmal and Haider Ali went back to the pavilion. The Zalmi never looked comfortable.
Both Sultans and Zalmi played their second match against each other today.
Livingstone scored 24 runs off 16 deliveries for England, but he was dismissed by Afridi with 42 runs on the board.
Throughout the run chase, Sohaib Malik played a good knock of 44 runs off 31 balls. However, Imran Tahir dismissed him in the 14.1 over with Zalmi’s score of 102.
Although Ben Cutting scored 23 runs in the late overs with two sixes, Zalmi were already in trouble as Sultans once again were outstanding in today’s game.
Chushdil claimed three wickets for 26 runs in 3.3 overs, while Muzarabani took three for 18 in four overs.
Afridi took two wickets, Tahir one each, and Imran Tahir one.
Shoaib Malik, an experienced all-rounder for Zalmi, conceded only nine runs in two overs.
Saqib Mahmood, Wahab Riaz and Salman Irshad also took two wickets each, but they were also badly hit.
Peshawar Zalmi, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Quetta Gladiators, and Islamabad United were all defeated by the Muhammad Rizwan-led Sultans in PSL 2022.
A spectacular 68 runs from Shan Masood and 34 runs from Tim David off 18 balls helped the Sultans score 182 runs. Mohammad Rizwan and Shan Masood put on a 98-run opening stand for them.
